Janice Yeung

I believe that a trade union should be made up of the workers' voices, not just a select few. This is why I am running with Members Coalition, for a union that will advocate for and support its members and represent the diversity of its membership.

I have been a union member of the public and community sector for 10 years. My roles at work have included advocating for disadvantaged renters, representing union members working in healthcare facing disciplinary action and now as a lawyer at Legal Aid assisting the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our community. I believe my advocacy skills will be useful to effectively support members.

In the last year, I have been an active PSA union member campaigning with fellow comrades for the union to adequately support its members facing disciplinary action at work for opposing the genocide in Palestine. It is through this campaigning that I have learnt more about how the PSA works.

I am committed to learning more and listening to the membership so that the PSA can better represent its members across all workplace issues. I believe our union can be better with less red tape and a more principled approach.
